Ernie took ownership of the company in 1985 and ran the business until his passing on June 26th, 2011. His electrical credentials and experience were plenty, but Ernie was much more than that. The company had always been an extended part of the family. He always treated his employees with great respect and would give the shirt off his back to help someone out or give them a chance. Most considered him to be the best “boss” they ever had, as there are employees that have been loyal to Reynolds Electric for 30+ years. He was a virtuous man with a witty personality, radiant smile and hearty laugh. May he always be remembered for his impact that he had on the industry, and in all the lives he touched.
Ben Reynolds began in the industry initially just as a shop boy during high school summers, learning material and filling orders back in 1994. After high school he went out in the field as an apprentice electrician to learn the trade. He completed two years of the IECA apprenticeship and became certified in 3 Fire Alarm systems. Seven years later, he took the opportunity to become the new Pre Fab Manager, being in charge of all company tools and vehicles. He was eventually brought into new construction and began learning the Estimation software. Ben had a unique chance to learn from four senior estimators, including his father. After 5 years of estimating he became a partner in the company. Since the passing of his father, Ben attained the contractors licensing and stepped up as President, striving to carry on his father’s legacy of hard work, honest business practices, integrity, and commitment to loving life.
Manny started his career as an apprentice electrician in 1987, and in 1990 he joined the Reynolds Electric team. Gaining experience in the field, he became one of the company’s top foremen, and in 1999 he was promoted to Superintendant of all new construction. He was in control of our manpower of over 100 electricians and 20 ongoing projects at any given time. As the company grew, so did opportunity, and in 2005 Manny was promoted to Project Manager. Since our corporate separation and rebirth of Reynolds Electric, Manny became a partner in the company residing as Operations Manager, overseeing all manpower and projects in the field.
Sharon, Ernie’s wife of 35 years, has been a part of the company since 1978. Initially working for Del and Joann out of their house she recognized the strong business ethics the company had and knew early on that this would become a lifelong endeavor. She started answering phones and performing general office duties. Once Ernie and she had taken over in 1985, she continued on with all office duties, accounting, billing, and payroll and so on. Always working by Ernie’s side and raising 3 beautiful children, she has seen the company go through all of its phases over the many years never doubting its continuing ability to succeed with the same core values the company had been born with. She has always been known to be the office favorite with a big smile and welcoming voice. She now enjoys working part time and assists with HR and administrative duties.
Shortly after the light bulb was invented, David began his journey into the electrical industry in January of 1972. He was a field electrician for 10 years, specializing in grocery stores and industrial refrigeration, and in 1982 he moved into an office and began his estimating career. With Reynolds Electric expanding and in need of an additional estimator, Dave was added onto the payroll in 1991 to meet the demands of the growing company. When the Estimation software came out in 1992, Dave took the course necessary to master the program and help streamline the company for faster and more accurate bidding procedures. By the year 2000, David had become Chief estimator and was the overseer of 5 estimators, their bids, and all 20 users on the Estimation program. Excelling in multimillion dollar high profile jobs, design build / engineering assistance, and value engineering, he has become a valuable asset in the company.
Wes Marsh started his electrical profession back in 1983 as a field electrician. After 10 years he came to Reynolds Electric, where he unknowingly made a career choice that would keep him a part of the team till present day. Wes worked his way through the ranks, becoming a foreman and then later moving into an office position as the Pre-Fabrication Manager. Here he managed roughly 8 employees, including a cad designer to help streamline projects. In every pre-construction meeting, he was in charge of finding ways to implement faster production of normally mundane tasks of field electricians. The company was able to cut costs all in a controlled and supervised environment. Soon afterward Wes was promoted to being a Project Manager, where he learned estimating; he has been in this position ever since due to his excellence.
Matthew became interested in the electrical industry at an early age and decided to follow in his father’s footsteps to become a project manager. He received his bachelor’s degree in construction management from ASU at the Dell E. Webb School of Construction in 2007. During a one year internship, he was a project manager assistant and was able to apply his newly learned techniques to real world applications. Shortly after, Matthew joined the team with sharpened skills and has proven to be a valuable resource.
Michael brings us over 35 years’ experience in the electrical industry. He worked for an electrical engineering firm in the valley while attending college. After completing the Construction Engineering program at ASU in 1979, he graduated and went on to work for one of the largest electrical construction companies in the nation. Michael has managed several industrial, commercial, and tenant improvement projects. To add additional experience to Michael’s resume, we brought him in to head up our growing service department. He has a great attitude and brings us new opportunities to build the department. He is the father of Monica and Matthew, and we are happy to have Michael as part of the team.
Monica received her Bachelor of Science at the ASU Dell E. Webb School of Construction with an emphasis on specialty construction in 2007. She started as an intern back in 2005 in our service department as a PMA, and later as a PM. She left in 2011 though, when our old corporate company was shut down. Luckily for us, we were able to get her back in the Spring of 2014. She was a perfect fit for us as she already knew the interworkings of the company and we welcomed her back as part of the Reynolds Electric family. Monica works with Sharon handling all of the HR and administrative needs for our growing company and also handles all billing and scheduling for our Service Department. She has become a treasured resource for Reynolds Electric.
